Silent Disco

Have you ever tried Silent Disco?

The first time I tried silent disco was last year on a cruise heading to Alaska with my family.  We saw it on the cruise’s itinerary and thought we would give it a go.

So what the heck is Silent Disco?

Silent Disco, in the simplest sense, is a headphone dance party.  It is different from other audio entertainment services as it routes audio signals via radio waves to wireless LED-lit headsets.  LED colours indicate station selection, and there are anywhere from 1 to 3 different stations playing simultaneously.  Users can switch between stations and adjust the volume on their own headsets.

Using silent disco headphones at any type of event will reduce the noise pollution of booming speakers, allowing listeners to hear the audio signal over a long range (up to 500m with Dreamland’s headphones), and give users a more comfortable listening experience.

Why are we talking about it? Because you can be the first to try this at Vancouver Island Market!

Together with Dreamland Silent Disco, Vancouver Island Market will be offering this experience absolutely free! Come listen to 102.3 The Wave on Saturday, March 30th on channel 1, Abba remix on channel 2, and classic rock on channel 3.

** This Thursday, March 7, at The Queens, Dreamland Silent Disco is giving away 10 passes to VIM readers. **  You can also use coupon code “VIM” on Eventbrite for $5 tickets.  **

About Dreamland Silent Disco

Dreamland’s parties are not so much about recreating a nightclub experience, but rather for people to experience the joy of dancing in a playful environment. With Dreamland’s battery-operated lighting and portable power, we specialize in creating events in outdoor and off-grid venues.  Event-goers can switch between 3 channels of music, as well as adjust volume-all on their own headsets.  It is a great way to get to know people, as you connect with those around you who are dancing to the same beat. If you want to strike up a conversation with someone new, you can simply take off your headset and talk at normal volume, while enjoying the unusual scene around you.  Our equipment can be used for other purposes including lectures, karaoke, fitness classes, singles mixers, mobile tours, and more, and is ideal for any venue that might need a low-to-no volume alternative.
